“Sacramento's creative community never settles -- whether that be in the quality of work produced or leveraging it to advocate for the sort of city- and industry-wide changes artist want to see. Sacramento creatives are inspired and dedicated not just to producing beautiful and thought-provoking work, but using that work as a driver for change.” - Allison Joy

“I have a passion for designing, developing, and organizing projects. I love planning and creating. Street Photography is my hobby as well as mixed media art journaling. I wanted to volunteer to connect and collaborate with more creatives in Sacramento and really get to know everyone and what they are working on, and add value as much as I can to projects that I can help out on.” - Aisha Abdul Rahman

Samuel R. Parkinson

“I am exclusively dedicated to my success with in the fashion industry so my 12+ years of experience is what I am banking on. I am currently running my design studio and retail shop in the Wal Public Market where it has definitely slowed down but I was able to pivot and stay afloat. I work in me shop just about every day knowing that these disasters will get better. I cut, create and collaborate as I await that day.” - Samuel R. Parkinson

“My favorite thing about pre-covid Creativity+ events was hearing two individuals with different backgrounds, careers, etc explain their interpretation of one word. It really gets you to relate and see things from a new perspective.” - Sureena Johl

“There is so much to discover. I think of events like the Verge Art Auction, spaces like Sol Collective, small unassuming venues for art like Public Land, shows on the rooftop at WAL, poetry on the street corners in Oak Park, there is something amazing happening everywhere if you are willing to explore.” - Clay Nutting
